Alison is the Scheduling Manager at PCL and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of scheduling within BC. She has worked in this career for 20 years. She has a degree in Quality Assurance from the University of Derby. She is originally from England and moved to Canada for better opportunities.
She has been with PCL since 2007 and stated this is a great company to work for. They are one of the biggest construction companies in the world and are well-known leaders when it comes to building ICI, heavy industrial and civil projects. Alison highlighted the following projects in BC: The Reach Gallery Museum in Abbotsford, BC Place Revitalization, Terminal City Club Tower, Surrey Civic Centre, and New West Civic Centre. PCL’s projects have won many awards for quality, innovation, safety and community spirit.
She works in this industry because she is passionate about construction and simply enjoys what she does. She loves her job because every day is different in her role. She enjoys helping people as a manager, being involved, and interacting with construction managers on a daily basis on some of the most reputable projects in the country.
Outside of work, Alison likes gardening and being outdoors. She loves giving back to the community as well and currently volunteers at Girl Guides as a Junior Leader. This organization initiates innovative programs to help the next generation of Canadian girls become confident, courageous and resourceful leaders. She finds this work very rewarding since she has the opportunity to educate and influence young girls on important social issues such as bullying. We have included a link below for anyone interested in volunteering or learning more about Girl Guides.
Alison actively attends CCW events and we look forward to seeing her at more gatherings. We thank her for sharing her background and wish her all the best at PCL.
